Personal Lines Manager – Surrey

Our Surrey Insurance Broker Client has a new opportunity for a Personal Lines Manager. The Personal Lines Manager leads by example, plus provides mentoring and technical support to personal lines staff. In addition the Manager provides a high level of customer service to a diverse clientele by meeting the customers’ insurance needs.

Primary Role Responsibilities:

  • Manages an established Personal Lines book of business
  • Recognizes and responds to business development opportunities
  • Provides leadership and mentorship in the development of Personal Lines staff
  • Works with the Operations Manager to establish short and long-term department goals
  • Review potential clients’ current coverages and identify opportunities to better manage risks
  • Handles policy changes, endorsement requests, policy changes and Insurance Certificates
  • Works to improve best practises for Personal Lines
  • Monitors renewal information and client updating file processes
  • Attends Client meetings when required
  • Keeps up to date with market conditions and trends
  • Attends Industry functions as required
  • Leads staff hiring and performance evaluation processes
  • Able to work with multiple Insurer markets and portals


  1. A current Level 2 General Insurance license at minimum. Completed CAIB/CIP preferred
  2. 7 or more years Personal Lines experience
  3. Previous supervision experience helpful
  4. Experience working with a variety of Insurers and Company portals
  5. Excellent communication and problem solving skills
  6. Above average computer skills including MS Office and TAM
  7. Self-motivated to achieve targets and goals
  8. Enthusiastic with delivering exceptional customer service
  9. Ability to lead in a team oriented work culture
